Default 978bhp/773ft-lb M.A.Developments engine.

Alongside the development of my engine Markis doing a similar Spec with the Evo engine. Last Saturday he rang me to say ithad made 931bhp/740ft-lb torque at 3bar of boost the fuel used was 109. FTWfuel was not used because the car ran out of Fuel Pump capacity. The mods toimprove the head gasket integrity I have on mine also worked with no head lift orloss of water. Having studied the DataMark decided the 109 was not maxed out so he wanted another crack.
Today Mark was back with the EVO to totallymax out 109 ron race fuel. He added as much ignition as possible & ran asweak as was safe & made (wait for it) 978bhp/773ft-lb. Hes just rang me & is purring like akitten. The aim with this car is to now fit a Fuel Pump Voltage Booster &use FTW Purple the same combo will be used in mine. Another 2.3% more Power isneeded to crack the 1000bhp & FTW tends to make around 5/6% over 109 so itlikes likely to sail over 1000bhp on a 9180.
Mark is now going to get mine built readyfor the Dyno & wait until December before having another crack with theEVO. He wont be drawn on mine but said if our latest head gasket integrity modswork, Power wise the YB fares well against the EVO. Im now getting a tad excited not good for an old sod as the prospect of aground breaking street roadable YB with close to the magic 4 figures.
Its taken a long time Mark but this isuncharted territory for a road mannered YB & im now getting rather excitedabout mine lets get it built.

Incredible result I'm sure u said yb's normally put out more power than evos with similar turbo set ups? That would be good as you should get over 1000 hp? Are u aiming for similar torque?

They normally do but this Evo is a little diff than the ones I have done before it and it has suprised me every step of the way with the power its made and on two diff dyno's also as a back up.

FTW Purple is a race fuel one of the latest blends that's setting new standards & getting close to Methanol for producing Power. Its expensive around Ł35 a gallon but it appears to make huge figures but as usual Mark is very sceptical until he has tried it.

Personally I don't see the point in tuning on race fuel, unless its for racing! If you can't fill it up at the pumps then it's of little real world value IMHO.

Not knocking the achievement it's undoubtably superb, but claiming it as a road engine whe it's got to be run on rocket fuel to make it work is a bit pointless.

The owner does run it on race fuel on the road also. It makes 801hp on pump fuel.

Its a road engine because it spools like one its ultimate Power is determined by the Fuel used that is the case with all engines. Personally 800 is enough on the road but if I enter Vmax its not enough but it don't stop it being a road engine. Pointless to you is essential to others which is why some people chase Power.

Im actually changing from a triple plate to a twin. They take huge Torque but those figures are a bit worrying .

When I think of road engines I envisage 2,500rpm power bands too

Don't get me wrong, it's an astounding achievement but to say it has the boost threshold of a road engine is incorrect

That is such a rubbish thing to say lol using a gearbox correctly will keep you in the power. I imagine this evo feels astonishing fast. Plus if it has a sequential box it will never be out of the boost on the road lol

You simply have no idea where Mark has taken these engines. Ask Simon for a ride it would shut you up in a second. That car is biff bang gone beyond belief. 1000rpm lower spool than mine is the progress made since 2008.

Out of interest mark, have you ever done any big power builds on bigger engines?
As in 3l 6pots?
Supra/skyline.....

I just wondered what sort of power you get out of these if you get nearly 1000 out of a 2l 4pot.

I don't get what you are saying, that graph looks like it is starting to make more power than a std cossie peak at around 4000 / 4500 rpm and then takes off until over 7500...

If the Turbo performs anything like my Borg EFR then you hit the throttle and the turbo just takes off.

Not done any big builds on other engines but starting on Porsche now so that will come.
I have mapped plenty 1000+hp cars and boats.
