here a few of mine

lowering vans on the rear is easy, this is how to lower a mk3/4 van

BEFORE:

AFTER:

just remove the leaf spring from ABOVE the rear axle & refit it UNDER the rear axle

on a mk5/6 van u can reuse the u-bolts & need nothing more then 24 washers & a grinder.

i put 3 washers over each thread on the u-bolt before the nut as when doin this you are close to runniung out of thread on the bolt as it tightens down further

the 2 leaf springs are bolted together, u will need to grind the nut of the top as this point is central & u need to put the axle exactly where the nut is.
when clamping it all back together the 2 leaf springs are squashed together so this doesnt matter (grinding the nut off)

JUST REMEMBER WHAT WAY YOU TAKE THE REAR SPRINGS OFF, FRONT IS FRONT & REAR IS REAR AS THE ALINEING PIN IS NOT CENTRAL IN THE SPRING & IF FITTED YOU WHEEL WONT SIT CENTRAL IN THE ARCH

l lowered a mk4 van a few years back by putting the axle above the spring, i would advise welding an axle pad on the axle so that it will always sit flat on the spring and not want to roll about with just the tension of the new bolts holding it

I just picked up an S plate that needs a little work, engine etc, but will be replacing seats, wheels and some body parts too. Is everything interchangeable from the hatchbacks etc?
