Default Rs1800 problems

Right, been putting car back together last 2 days. Started playing up at the bodyshop which i thought was the battery but now realise its not. Worked out that its the ford deadlock (or whatever you call it) It kicks in when it wants. Sometimes it starts sometimes it dosent. If you unlock then lock and hold key for 2 seconds then unlock the door it usually starts. How do i get it to stop doing this?

Someone has said it could be something in the locks that has worn that causes deadlock to kick in and out.

Also the windows, electric mirrors or boot release don't work either which i take it must be all connected.

Really annoying as anther days work and it'll be ready for mot

Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED!

Do these suffer fusebox issues like the Escort? Have you checked the main fuses as it sounds like it could have popped. Checked your earths around the engine bay? Also, on the Escort which maybe the same as the fiesta, there is a small wire for the immoboliser that gets mossed sometimes

Had someone look at it yesterday. Seems theres an immobiliser issue cutting the crank to the starter. He routed out the wire in the fusebox and cut it. Now with an earth to it the car starts. My clock doesn't work so can't see what flashing code the immobiliser is throwing up. Also I've just put a new starter on and that now runs constantly. Until he gets a wiring diagram he can't do anymore.

Really thinking i need the standard immobiliser taking off. Also only have the master key so need another one cutting. Such a headache!!!!!!
