Engine warning light after Cambelt change on Fusion 1,4
I had the cambelt, water pump, auxiliary belts changed on my 2005 Fusion at 43,300 miles at an independent garage next to where I work.
The car has a full service history, all at Ford dealers.
When I collected her, the engine warning light was on, first time I've seen it on.
I'm still waiting for the mechanic to return from his holiday to have a look, but I'm suspecting that as they didn't disconnect the battery when they did the work, this has tripped the warning light on? If so, any ideas how to reset it?

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
There's only one mechanic that can read and clear the codes for you? Nobody else?
It's not exactly customer friendly work he has done. I would think that the EML would have been noticed after starting the engine.
I would stay away from this "garage" in the future.
Anybody with either a Ford specific scanner or a generic EOBD/OBD2 scanner can read and clear the codes for you.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
There would be no need to disconnect the battery to change the timing belt,
So that shouldn't make any differance,
More likely they've either left something unplugged, or started it up with something still disconnected,
Which had stored a fault code and needs cleared
If so its an easy mistake for the mechanc to make and easy put right,
But he should have noticed it and cleared it before the car was returned to you,
Easy way to reset most lights is to leave the ignition switched on and disconnect the neg terminal on batterym
Leave for 5 minutes then reconnect
Turn ignition off then start up as normal, it might clear the fault code to save you going back

Solved!
The mechanic finally plugged her in and cleared the error code for Cambelt which had showed up. They then changed the cam belt sensor, clear error codes and all good now. Thanks to all for the advice.https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/roi.gif

Been a mechanic for 18 years and i certainly wouldnt dream of taking battery off to do a belt on 1, far to many owners dont know radio codes etc these days, then its sll your fault cause it worked fine when they brought it in,
I think it would cause more hassle than its worth,
But i see wher your coming from,
And op, no such thing as a cam belt sensor,
