Default Zetec engine quest - can you fit??

Hi,

First got a 2001 focus 1.8.

Lookin at things i can do next but dont want be spendin loads for minimal gains as swappion car in 6mths!. Seen a few posts here and elsewhere about fittin an ST170 throttle body and wondered how easy it is to fit to . Also wot about TB, cams (or zetec 136ps cams if they arent the same thing) and MAF from a GTI 1.8 or 2.0 mondy etc and again do they fit and r they a straight fit?

Jus want sumthin different and then wont cost a bomb to fit!!

Any other ideas appreciated!

Matt

Cams is supposed to do by far the biggest part of the difference.

Will the zetec 136ps cams/ecu from a silvertop fit striaght into my blacktop focus as i thought the cams were different (one hydraulic and other mechanical lifters) Does that make any difference?

If they do fit wot gains wud they roughly give me? Iv currently got st170 manifold/cat with S.S cat-back with K&N induction kit?

u think it is worthwhile either porting my 1.8 or buying that ported 1.8 one or do u not think there will be any gains?

Tbh mate if you have not done anything else to the engine it would be pointless, also if you are buying another car in 6 months or so and not planning to do any drastic mods,i would leave as is,put that cash aside for the next car. You would be wasting money on nothing

fair enuf m8, yea only things i woz lookin at woz cams wit remap. Then herd bout the bloke sellin the ported head and jus wanted to see if it woz worthwhile. If i modded this car to a reasonable power (150ish or more if possibel without spendin stupid amounts) i would keep it for longer, especially as i want an focus st/rs or fiesta st, which arent cheap and i wud want mod them as well it wud allow me to save up a bit more!!!
