Compression Strut Kit
Sierra/Escort Compression Strut Kit
Now made from 1 piece CNC machined solid bar.
Not the cut/shut welded type so a far nicer and stronger construction.
Includes all hardware required for fitting ie, brackets, rose joints, spacers, nuts, bolts, washers joint ends etc.
£162 plus delivery
Converts your suspension to independant units and vastly improves turn in on the front end on both the Sierra and Escort, can aid grip levels for properly set up cars. For cars running with no ARB set up (about 70% of competition cars). These are fine for normal / fast road and competition use. The introduction of bladed ARB's are only necessary for dedicated track only cars who are intimate about shaving off seconds from lap times. For your average car that mixes track with the trip to Tesco's these are 100% fine.

Very nice! why has not the brackets been fully welded and with reinforcements like the original group A ones, I did not dare mount mine before welding..
looks like a quality kit

This used to be the tube in tubular constructed items.
On these with a solid bar we us an 8.8 strength bolt that will snap/bend first, and a bracket that is designed to give in to the impact.
If requested and subsequent use is for motorsport we fully weld the bracket and use a 12 grade bolt.
Hope that helps you understand the difference

I apologise for going off topic slightly,but i have a 909 front suspension setup comprising of 909 coilovers,grpa. 4x4 hubs,909 tca's,and 909 compression struts.,but i think the setup is for gravel as it was removed from nigel Worswicks old saff,and the bladed roll bar was not on the car when removed,but i remember the shell had the compression strut brackets bolted to the shell using original bolts,but also seam welded to the car.
i want to bolt the setup to my saff track car,but i was concerned about;
(A) Where could i get the brackets that bolt to the arb points for the compression struts,and
(B) Would i need a bladed roll bar for this setup on track,
as the car will have 180 bhp at most,and goes round a track o.k. on the standard stuff plus koni's.
I also have the rear setup of 909 coilovers,and rose jointed beam,plus i have a rear diff cover that incorporates the diff mount.
I really want to use this setup on my car for track days as i want to make the car go better,but i'm unsure if it is suitable.
Please help me.

Sounds like it will be perfectly suitable.
Nigel also used to run Q27 on tarmac events too and I never remembered it having any front ARB fitted (bladed or not), so I guess thats why you havn't got it lol
What help do you need ?

I just needed the advice on wether what i have got is suitable for track use in it's current guise.
I plan to fit it to my 92 saff lx track car,but wasn't planning on putting a cage in,will the shell self destruct with everything being solid mounted?

i know this is going to sound stupid
but what effects does the car have when you remove the roll bar and fit these
im just confused at the min as doesnt the roll bar basically keep the shell from twisting in a sort of way as its all linked together

No not really dont forget you still have things mounted in the same place.
The twist (or cornering force) is taken out by the dampers that now work independantly from each other. As long as they are not knackered 20 odd year old items it will be 100% fine.
An ARB will not stop a shell from twisting as it is basically acting just like a spring. The rear ARB is left untouched anyway but some race cars do disconnect it sometimes to change the way the car steers.

As with anything adjustable the benefits are in the actual set-up of the components and not necessarily the components themselves.
If you know what or how you want the car to perform then these will assist you to get that set up. They are not a new thing and have been used in competition for years.

Not a very big deal to mount a front ARB anyway, so you can get away with softer front springs in stead of using stiffer springs to counter te bodyroll.

Mods would be needed to the chassis and the TCA's would need modifying to accept new drop links etc.
For not a great deal of gain its a lot of work, but nothings ever impossible.
It was a next step mod to eeeak out another '00 second saving on lap times by the circuit racers.

i have put these on my saff and run avo coil overs re valved to 280 120 and have noticed the handling on the front is remarkable, i cant remember what castor i set them to but it turns in so well the only thing i have found is the rear end feeling unstable because it cant cope with how good the front is , so i need an adjustable rear beam now but highly recomended i'd say!
- do they take paypal/ credit cards?
