My MK1 XR2 TURBO(Finaly a update 12/6/08)
Elo folks have got myself a new project to play with. picked it up on monday nite but 2day was the only real chance ive had to start on it.
its had new wings they have just got a bit of surface rust on them now,and all the welding is done or so i thought lol
found a couple of areas around the sunroof and battery tray that require sum attention.

Got a bit done 2day removed the head, inlet manifold, turbo and exhaust manifold. Was really happy to find that the pistons and bores were in really good condition.
Started tidying the wiring the other nite aswell, but may remove that as im goin to put the ecus inside the car so will have reroute the wiring.
i have a few powder coated item to go on the engine, one of the being a inlet manifold so i built that up.
will be starting to build up my stage 3 head next week aswell but heres a few pics of it,
i had to pop out for a lil while, but left my dad trying to get the nut for water feed pipe out of the turbo cause it was rounded off.come bac to find this

2moz im taking the head to a guy round my way who builds engines for a living and hes going to make me some shims for my solid lifters

Went and picked up my head ,that was having the solid lifters shimmed, just got to buy a new oil seal and fit the vernier pulley then its ready to go on.
Also had a pace ally rad for a s2 in my shed but it had a small hole,so got this welded and also got the pipe for the water return for the turbo welded up aswell.
At the weekend i also found time to primer the engine bay so hopefully wil get round to spraying that this week
