Default Bargin Buy Series 1 (Back from Paint)

helo folks thought i would start resto thread on the series 1 me and my dad have just brought.
for thoses of you that dont already know we picked a 66k none runner up for £850.

this was the day we picked it up

then the next day we started striping the font end and bits of the engine bay,was really happy to find no rust.

then today we took the engine out

we found the rear gearbox mount borken so need 1 of these if any1 has 1

once the enigne was out we started stirping it and this is wot we found

Dammit. Dropped a valve, not uncommon for a CVH I'm afraid.

Not good about the engine, car looks minted tho for 850 especially for a B plate, i still reckon it's a good deal! Good luck!

the seller was either a millionare or has been locked in a dark room for years and has NO IDEA that a shell that clean is worth nearly 850 let alone the whole car!!!!!!!!!!!

Pisser about the engine, but if it had fired up and been tickerty boo, I would have been asking you to give me 6 number 1-49 becuase you would have been the luckiest bloke I know.

Getting a shell sorted can cost 10 times what a new lump will, so be greatful for what you have mate.

Sounds like it is going to be looking good in it's new coat.

Matt
