Unhappy E5 MDS 4x4 saph re-build . . . for sale . . .

had it about 3 months now after i decided to sell my fiesta zetec turbo(danny p's) to buy it. got it off a mate whos moveing thailand and basically lost interest in it and probably saw sense!! he had the car for about 13 yrs i think and reciepts nearing 35000 with all the different specs, engines and servicing! the last engine had only done about 2000 miles when i got it and it had just been mapped at msd with closed loop and air injectors on a p8.
full bare shell resto lots of cleaning and powder coating etc!! not after concours, just clean and useable.im after changing the management/gearbox and a few other bits!

engine built by road n rally blackpool. the guy who built it used to build some wrc engines and he said bar the exhaust cam its a very similar spec obviously no intake resrictor. cost alot! head was 2k on its own! its high comp 9-1cr, all lightened/balanced, custom cams, isky springs, lot of head work, high imp siemens injectors, p8, pectel loom, ally tanks, 500 cooler, charge cooler, quaife diffs(covered 2000 running in miles only!!) etc etc get the jist

cracked on pretty quickly gettin it stripped n put in boxes. plan is to get everything ready like back axle and engine etc for when the shell gets back from paint next year from my bros.

when i got the engine out dropped the oil and there was barely enough to cover a rag! didnt have a proper breather on so presume it spat it out on donningtons finest. so after checking the shells 3+4 were scored so may as well give it a freshen up while its out.

slipped a few times while flatting it down scratching the painted bits but you cant tell now its laquered

only sent the engine in to get it properly cleaned, crank polish n shells but ended up just getting everything done like rings hone re done the head with new followers and a re balanced crank/flywheel etc. and got him to put crank back in aswel so at least i know its goin to be 100% rite now(hopefully). cant afford to have any engine damage!

got all sump etc painted n back on using all cometic gaskets and using grease not sealer.thats what ive been told to use so hope sump seals properly. anyone had any problems with them?

heads on using cometic multilayer smearing some special 'goo' round the water ways to seal properly. hope this is going to be man enough for the job as the next step is about 300 quid?

got a plenum spacer and modifying the elbow on the plenum. wanted to go for a swedish plenum but i wouldnt be able to keep the chargecooler because of the throttle body location. anyone know how much im actually going to gain from having it as well as the intercooler??

what do you think of the colour scheme? im not sure now at all. think the verniers need to be a different colour or something?

got belt on jus need to get my mate to time the cams again to make sure theyre cock on!

pics of the inlet, saw a pic on the jenspeed article n pretty much copied that needs alot more titying up yet but its getting tere and alot more flow hopefully

the disks were ok jus grubby so sand blasted them f + r and polished the bells, will get them skimmed when theyre back on the car so theyre spot on with red stuff pads.only a big brake kit with standard calipers for now but il eventually get some calipers

a few pics of the front anti roll bar set up i baught never seen it before, it uses the normal roll bar but then has like a rosejointed compression strut running along side it. is this a kit you can buy??

got a load more pics off stuff.
it uses an air injectors at the mo but im planning on using my apexi that i took of my fiesta it worked really really well. tricky bit of kit.
i dont understand why more people dont use these? if theyre good enough for 1000bhp skylines with mazzive boost then they must be good for all stages of cosworth? and cost pretty much the same if not less than air injectors!

got these off ebay really cheap. got a feeling theyll be comeing off if the ride is too hard with the coilovers but wanted everythin to be adjustable so will try them.
just need a polish up.

marked out the holes and secured them through the strut brace with some old bolts for now

Red with white rl7s would look class on a sierra actually, but my choice would be black with silver wheels. with all the work your putting in there is something about red that gives off 'not a real cossie' or 'reshell', but black is original.
If the sierra turns out anywhere near the standard of your fiesta it'll be a work of art, fair play

heres another:

cage would obviously be cool but realistically its a lot of work and did you say you want to track the car? also dunno about a full cage and leather, half chrome cage would be a good comprimise and a lot less work. black car, black leather, chrome cage

gona go put exhaust studs in now. painted the manifold in heatproof paint which will prob last all of 5 minutes!lol really wanted a tubular one like a primary designs or the jenspeed ones on ebay but being a 22 yr old apprentice funds arnt that great lol pleanty of time when its bk on road.
got a load of spare heat wrap too but looking at it theres no real tidy way to do it. has anyone had any ceramic coating done?
