Anyone had a Kwak Z1000?
6 years since I last had a bike! Times flown. I said when I sold that I'd never have another sports bike because of my back. After only half hours ride I couldn't straighten up when I got off!
Been looking at bikes again and I go straight back into looking at sports! But I can't have one so need a more sat up bike. Thing is there aint many I like the look of apart from the kawasaki Z 750 and Z 1000. Insurance is similar so thinking go straight for the 1000 as it looks better with the twin exhausts etc.
Anyone had one to comment?

You obviously mean a new one but blimey! A Z1000, that takes me back. My old man had one when I was a young lad. Have fond memories of going away for the weekend on the back of that. His was metallic burgundy with the square tank and a 4-1 exhaust. He bought it cheap from a compound who stored things for the police. It had it from some biker gang chop shop and never been collected/claimed. Just like this.

Not had one myself, bought myself this as it's comfy without a cramped riding position and goes quite well.

Spent a fortune on exhaust, power commander and forged wheels though
But if you're a Kawasaki man a Yam won't do it for you !

Not really a Kawasaki man, I've never had one lol! 2 Gixxers and a CBR is all I have had. Just think the z1000 looks nice for a tourer.

I'm waiting for the Yamaha MT10 to come out next month, that is going to be a bit of kit, has a R1 frame and the currant R1 engine tuned for more low and midrange power and torque. The thing I like about the Yamaha is that they are using the current engine, not an old re-tuned one like most of the other manufacturers.
Its also worth looking at the GSXS1000, Suzuki are doing 0% over 48 months.

Looks a nice bike lee low milage example as well. Not sure on the seat to be honest but different tastes for different folks.
It's not too bad on price possibly a few hundred quid on the optimistic side but you well struggle to get one for under 3k in decent Nick. Although that has had a bit of money thrown at it. I would say it's a decent enough bike if you can get some money off I see it prob Ł3400-Ł3500.
Good luck with the viewing. Make sure you have a go on it and let me know how you get on.

The Kwack may not be your cup of tea but i have a zrx 1200r you sit just a little more upright than the z thou and is a easier on the shoulders. its been to Europe a few times the twin shock helps with storage too. im going back a few years now but at time it was the best by of the bunch ie, CB, XJR and that boat anchours GSX 1400. Also a few tweeks and they are quite cable of living with an average sport bike rider

Old Z/KZ 's are cool .My mate has had this for about 25 years .
Wheels, mono shock, air shifter and turbo all done himself .
He was running a derestricted zzr11 as a daily for about 10 years but moved to a 1200bandit about 4 years ago.
Old school cool , not so sure about his shades though

I had a 2008 Z1000. Abosoloutly loved it. With a few tweeks here and there it went well. Sounded great with a good pair of cans on it..
I would have another one.
I also rebuilt a ZX7RR which i ended up selling to a fella in Australia.
