Body shop advise wanted
I had a wagon drive into my drivers side quarter a week or so back and my car was taken to the insurance approved body shop, bear in mind the car is only 20 months old, I have added the before and after pics of the repair,
What are people's views on the work???

The marks are just water but it's the filling that I think is shit, the line of the arch is smooth, it should be sharp! you can also see the scratches under the paint, it's really looks unprofessional, I have sent it back and the body shop lads that came to pick it up just looked at me like I had two heads!

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I own a bodyshop and I've been panel beating for many years. That is one poor repair, deep with filler. Insurance bodyshop with a bonus scheme (lash for cash) springs to mind. Take it back and complain.

I think It's hard to tell the quality from the picture but like any repair if you can see it, it's not good enough.

Looks like pure cataloy
Prob just seen its a company car and thought nobody would care
Get low down and look up at the repaired area, i bet it looks even worse from there
Basicaly if you can see any repair at all then its a bad repair

The wheel has also been painted and the finish between the spokes is like sandpaper! The fit to doors and bumper is really rough, I'm no expert but can feel the lines are wrong and the repair is bumpy, to me it also looks like the petrol flap doesn't flow with the body it's more like its sunken in a bit,
I will have to see what they say tomorrow they didn't seem interested when they picked it up

This is why I've now bought my own painting gear and practising on various panels and old cars as I'm going to teach myself, don't trust any body shop with my Cossie and £4000 after seeing so many bodges. Obviously I'm not suggesting this to the op before anyone mentions it lol just stating what I'm doing

id have thought it would have been a new panel with it being a 2 year old car! especially as an insurance job. I took my old merc in recently for a quote to fix my bubbled rear arches and all they were interested in doing was replacing both rear quarters with new main dealer quarters and that was only rust bubbling around the arch edges!
