Default New car for commute..?

Right I'm doing 50 mile a day max inc bit of pottering, half motorway and half town..

Now I'm looking diesel mainly for the tax, BUT the Fez ST keeps rearing it's ugly head but tbh I'm not fancying the stereotype...and I don't want a 3 cylinder engine in any way shape or form from it's cousins as tbh I feel they seem a bit stressed and strung for my driving style

Have been looking at Ibiza's/Leon's and they look very nice for the money but bit plastic for me, and golfs just seem a bit yawn if I'm honest.

SO the Criteria is.....as NEW as poss, fun, ECONOMICAL and yeah maybe a bit sporty don't want a tank or a barge lol just something to hop into at 1am and cruise home knowing I'm over 40mpg regardless of foot weight hahahaha

Cheers lads fire away!!

Some of the smaller Audi turbo diesels I've driven have been rapid little things and good mpg. Expensive to buy and repair though.

Does it really need to be diesel?

I'm currently looking to change & one I'm considering is the latest Focus. The 1.5 Ecoboost in Zetec S trim. They appear to hit all the boxes. Economical enough, look the part, will handle well & relatively cheap VED etc

15 plate cars can be had from 13k including sync 2 Nav with Bluetooth etc

Buy an A3 quattro s-line, you could get one second hand for 24-25k
