I have a saff cossie and the pipe running between the pas pump and the rack is leaking slightly from the rubber flexi part of the pipe, from what I can make out these are hard to source now so was wondering if anyone has ever used braided aeroquip hosing for a pas pipe?
Either replacing just the flexi part of the pipe or the whole thing?

any hydraulic hose place could repair that hose.
ive done the return to the reservoir on mine in teflon aeroquip

I've just aero quipped my rack and power steering pump / bottle. Also modded the cooler pipe by brazing on -6 fittings. My low pressure return pipes from the rack to the bottle and from the bottle to the pump are rubber over braid hose. The high pressure pump to rack one is Teflon. All from torques

So did you guys use the correct AN fittings on the pump/rack to replace the whole pipe in aeroquip?
Any pics at all or links to any resto threads etc?

My tank is modded to dash 6 return and 8 feed my cooler pipe is -6 iver end. The rack has the -6 conversion plate you can buy off eBay and the pump has dash type banjo fittings

There are photos on here already somewhere, I think MK made adaptors for the rack.

The line from PAS pump to rack can be under very high pressure, this can exceed the rating of even teflon hose. Although many do use teflon and it seems to work ok.

Earls sell specific hydraulic hose and fittings for use with PAS steering which is much stronger than any teflon hose.

PAS fluid is rather flammable....up to you what you want to use.

I red a yb power steering pump runs around 80 bar Teflon is rated well over that

Normal pressures will depend on load, ie tyres, grip, usage etc. Applying fully lock can raise pressure substantially over normal working pressures too.

So even if normal is around 1000psi, it could see a lot higher on full lock.

Just be sure whatever hose and fittings used is 100% safe for the application, as it's probably the highest pressure lines in any car

And rack adapters I made myself

I'm using adapters like that do you sell them on eBay?
And Teflon hose and fittings will be fine there rated to over 2000 psi
