Driving Licence Counterpart

Driving Licence Counterpart
always good to be informed just incase you guys dont know,
From January 2015, DVLA will no longer issue the paper counterpart to the photocard driving licence.
What this means for you
You do not need to take any action, just keep your current photocard driving licence.
If you have an old style paper driving licence issued before the photocard was introduced in 1998, this change won’t affect you, and you should keep your licence.
The next time you need to update your name, address or renew your licence, you will be issued with a photocard only.
Entitlements, penalty points and the status of your driving licence won’t change.
What to do with your paper counterpart from January 2015
If you don’t think you’ll need it, then you may destroy it. You should not destroy the counterpart before 1 January 2015.
You’ll still be able to use the counterpart driving licence to change your address with DVLA. You can also change your address online.

I presume there will be security checks in place to only allow data access to genuine people who need it?
Or will it be like the rest of the DVLA where they will happily sell your data to all and sundry for a nice bit of profit....... Its especially dodgy when they currently allow criminals to pay to find out what cars are registered at your address. I've had dirty scum debt collectors trying to levy my car before for other peoples debts because they knew which car was registered at the former debtors address but couldnt be bothered or simply didnt care to find out who registered keeper was.

so when I move house in the next 2-3 weeks I'll be able to change my address online? Last time I had to send off my license etc? Don't have to send it off now then?
