Strange P8 on sapphire cossy 4x4
I buy p8 (i dont know is chip is standard, think is not) and put in my sapphire 4x4 green top.
Car is working but when i want to accelerate amal valve is ticking.
After few days idle dropped to 400-500 rpm!
when i put old L8 works fine. I dont what is happend...
Thanks

Check the TPS output this would cause the problem you describe and also the Amal issue as well as well as causing havock elsewhere.
It's not the base idle, it cannot drop below this it can only be raised above it by air via the ISCV, coupled with the fact this would not have been changed!
Nope the chip is not standard, if in any doubt (The name does not sound familar over here) replace it BEFORE you destroy your engine!

everything work normal with L8,( I`m not shure about lambda sensor).
It is work with P8 on idle, except amal ticking on pressed throttle.
I dont know is this version of P8 have reset option or not,but sierra loom does not have memory re-set plug...
Some ideas?

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
A L8 standard uses a 2-bar map-sensor.
A P8 standard uses a 2.5 bar map-sensor. This one? anybody's guess, but looks like a superchip with the board beneath the eprom. Could be 2.5 or even a 3-bar map sensor.
What map-sensor does your car have?

s1cab, swapping the tps wires is not necessary. Ford allready did this for the L8.
iguman, stop using the P8, unless you want to damage the engine.

Yes P8 and so Escos has a 2.5 BAR map sensor, so yours is certainly wrong, as the chip will either be mapped for standard or a higher MAP sensor.
The scales are totally different and so you need the correct MAP sensor as said, this is one of the main inputs and can destroy your engine as the ECU is receiving a false input!
You DON'T need to swap the wires, you only would do so if using L8/P8 on a 2WD loom!

I would not change the map-sensor for this Eprom.
Nothing is known. Is it for a 2.5 bar or a 3-bar map-sensor?
For which injectors is it intended? And which fuel pressure? 3.5 bar? 4 bar?
Is it intended for rally use and should there be a restrictor? And if so, how big? 32mm, 33mm, etc.
And then a question that intrigues me: why the P8? You're L8 seems to run fine.
What do you want?

Guys, the p8 boost control valve is NOT the same as the P8 amal and they are not interchangable. The boost valve problem and the ticking are caused by both the map sensor and the wrong boost control valve, so those are simple fixes.
The idle issue, probably adaption caused by running the wrong map sensor. Get a decent chip in there and perform a hard reset to clear adapation values in ROM 2.

Forgot about that, isn't the Escos one called a "Lecktron valve"?
