Guys, the p8 boost control valve is NOT the same as the P8 amal and they are not interchangable. The boost valve problem and the ticking are caused by both the map sensor and the wrong boost control valve, so those are simple fixes.
The idle issue, probably adaption caused by running the wrong map sensor. Get a decent chip in there and perform a hard reset to clear adapation values in ROM 2.
Thanks for pointing that out! Had the same problem with ticking ISCV on my 2WD when changing to P8. Not even thought about changing the boost/amal valve to the Escort one...
