Default MAP Sensor mounting ...

... I thought I'd start a post as I'm looking for these rubber bushes/isolators for the bolts that mount the MAP sensor to the bracket to the inner wing I know my hardware is not stock (they are stainless socket head bolts) ... but everything else in the engine bay is.

I want to replace these bushes if I can get them. Here's a piccy of the best one ...

and the bracket ... (the left hand one)

Upon asking the question in 'parts for sale' it seems that the standard mounting for the MAP sensor is different for a 3 door and a sapphire ... aparrently these bushes are unique to a 3 door as a saph has welded nuts on the bracket.

Is this correct? I thought it was an interesting question as obviously their purpuse is to prevent vibration damage to the MAP sensor.

I have a sapph cos and there are none of these on mine, if that helps.
Vibration would not be enough to be an issue here.

Mine on the saph is like everyone else's with welded nuts on
Your bracket looks like a orignal one by the shape ect so very strange unless someone's cut the nuts off to make it look smother/nicer

The bushes were only fitted to very early 3 doors pal.
Mount your sensor direct to the chassis with confidence mate, all will be fine.

maybe offtopic, but does the metal ring on the map sensor need to make earth to the chassis?

might also be worth mentioning that the sensor needs to stay mounted upsidown whereever you choose to mount it

Uumm ... my MAP sensor doesn't have a 'metal ring' ... unless you mean the braided earth strap/wire?

I ensured this terminal had a good earth (bare metal chassis and ring terminal ) ... but it comes from the harness and then goes to the mounting brackets lower bolt ...

Is this different to?
