Default For anyone interested in fitting Heated Seats...

Thought I'd share this as I'm very impressed for the money!
Bought a heated seat kit from ebay, 5 heat settings, two heat pads that can be cut to size depending on your seat's, wiring harness, basically a complete kit for £39.99 delivered.

I fitted it to a little Min Cooper but the principle is the same for RST seats (and most others).
It only needs a 10 Amp supply but I used the lighter socket harness as it was easy to piggy back onto.
The heat pads come with adhesive strips that you just peel off and then stick to the foam part of your seats.

Here's some pics of the install...

Gets hot very fast and setting 4 is pretty hot, 5 is almost too hot! lol
Here's the ebay link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-of-Ca...item3a79b09811

Oh and this is not my ebay account, I do not sell these!!
Just thought it might be of interest on here as RST seats come apart really easily and this time of year heated seats are awesome!

Here's a pic of a stripped RST seat back when I put all mine through the wash to get rid of 25 years worth of dirt!

Exactly the same kit we have used in the past! Will be using it in the Orion when I get a chance to fit the new interior!

They have been reliable to...out of around 5-6kits we have fitted, not one has had a problem.

I have a feeling i will be fitting some to the rear of the CLS and the front and back of the Orion to!

Yeah this has only been in just over a month so can't comment on reliability yet but the build quality seems fine to me so unless they elements are crap I don't see why they won't last.

Cheap and easy mate, no reason not too, here in the UK it's colder more than it's hot so will get plenty of use!

do you fit the elements behind the foam or inbetween the fabric and the foam?

Inbetween is by far the best place, in the above instance I fitted the base element inbetween and the upright element behind the foam as it was glued to the foam to hold shape and I had no fabric glue to reattach it if I peeled it off, next time I'll make sure I have some ready.
