right ive changed my plans im not going to fit an st170 box in my escort now. but need to know what gearbox is best dont need to be all singing and dancing

its a mk4 escort but i need a gear box thats got cable gear link will fit standed rs turbo shafts and mk3 escort mounts and mate to a 2.0 blacktop

any ideas only the ka ib5 i can think of

Focus IB5 box.

so a focus ib5 will fit the mk3 mounts and rs turbo drive shafts if so thats great

I think a focus ib5 mounts differently to a mk3 escort, its also hydraulic clutch and electronic speedo.

Can I ask why you can't have a rod change box?

cause i plated over the hole and when i fitted the cables if i have to i will have to cut it open was just hoping if there was a box i could use b4 i did that

It will yes, but as Stu points out it has a hydraulic clutch (you don't say if you want cable or hydro?).
Electronic speedo doesn't matter as you just remove the sender and fit a cable.
IB5 has the four bolt holes for the MK3 mount at the front.

Cheers will look at that then i can fit a hydro so no real worry there
