Default HELP!! car not starting??

Ive got a 95 escort cossie running a big turbo conversion that consists of a 2wd loom,L6 ecu,YB, its stage 3....
On saturday washed car ready for fordfair and left for a few hours drove home (10 miles) parked up (1/2 hour) started to wax it.When i started the car it stalled straight away then restarted and it ran like dog? after several attempts it wouldnt start, so began the usual checks
* it has a good spark
* it has fuel
* engine is timed correctly
* cleaned out cap and arm
then dug a few spares out and replaced the following
* crankshaft sensor
* ecu
* ignition amplifier
* phase sensor and distributor
* spark plugs
* coil
cleaned all plug connections and checked voltage supply all seemed good
we disconnected temp sensor and tried starting car and it started and revved up on its own to 3500 rpm then we revved it a little ourselves and it sounded fine ran for about 30 secs then cut out and hasnt started since?
so ive come to the conclusion that its not mechanical as it ran, its not the obvious fuel,spark,timming.
Im now fresh out of ideas and ready to go at it with the petrol and matches
any help/ideas/previous experience would be most appreciated

The only thing that would put your revs up is

1. iscv (as stated above)
2.sticky throttle boddie (doubt it but might be worth checking)
3.faulty tps

let the car dry out you might just have water in some where spray all your electric connectors with wd40 or sparky cleaner (ask a sparky where to get it) is your car dragging in to much air on the inlet side?have you checked? that could also put the revs up aswell

It sounds to me like the CTS, when you disconnect it like you did it simulates a very cold condition hence it will over fuel as well as raising the revs (You may have noticed a lot of smoke as well from exhaust). These are thermistors and do go out of range after a while.

You can check the output on these but for the price of them it's rarely worth it.
