RS MK5 - new to this
Hi All
Very new to this forum and car upkeep fullstop!
As a kid, I always thought I'd have some kind of supped up XR3i bit of a tom boy but shhhhh
Well, as a bday pressie in March, my family chipped together and brought me an RS Turbo 2000 MK5. It's in, what I call 'dirty white', well it was white but wasn't really looked after to well, so lots of scratch marks and primer type patches over it. It's a work in progress, lets put it that way
See, this doesn't bother me, as a friend is a mech and she has said she will work on it, with her partner, as a 'hobby', when they get a spare moment or two. All I need to do is pay for what needs to be done and supply endless cups of coffee/tea and possibly cakes.................fair deal I say!
All though my family keep pestering me, along the lines of 'you'll never find a man if you put your attention into that car'............bothered
As this is my first time EVER with a car project, what would look nice? I want it slick, not too vamped up. Nice looking to the eye with an unexpected kick. My budget is £3000 GBP (which was gonna go on buying me a car but now I have this, sod it, public transport it is for now). Are there are decent/good suppliers in the Reading, Berkshire area? Or can you suggest any decent online suppliers.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the ramble x

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
iTrader: (1)
Get some pics up of your car! We all gotta start somewhere.. I was the exact same when i brought my 1.3 bonus.. 2 years on ive resprayed it and done a full rs turbo engine conversion! Its really not that hard you just need to have a lot of patience, time and money! have a look at some members restoration threads.. theres alot of people who have done some amazing work to get their cars back upto standard! its perfect for thinking of ideas for what you want to do to your own car!!
