Default No dash lights?

Ford escort van 2002 1.8
Hi
Recently noticed my battery terminals looked terrible, so wanted to change them, I also installed a brand new bosch battery at the time, trouble is I now have no electric within the van.
The dash lights will flicker on really quickly but go straight off, I am able to crank the van though, with no start.

I have made sure the terminals are on correctly and everything seems ok.

Do you think it's a blown fus somewhere?

I recently changed the ignition barrel as I had a stuck steering lock aswell and obviously got a new key, I just kept the old one with the chip on and the van has been starting up until I changed the battery and terminals? What can I check for?

Thankyou

When i turn the key to accessories position the battery light comes on and the oil light on dash, but no others as it normally would. It's not the key as immobiliser goes out where I have the old key chip next to new key and was starting until the terminals got changed.

I've managed to get the van started by shorting the two wires on the ignition switch (black and red), bur still no dash lights ir electric etc

Verify all connections are good and clean.

Sorry what connections shall I check? The battery terminals are brand new and battery. I have just managed to get the van to start by shorting the black and red wire on the ignition switch, but still had no dash lights or electric.
after that the van started a couple of times without shorting. Trouble is it wouldn't turn off, but when I pressed the hazard light it switched off? Lol this is confusing, do you think ignition switch is causing this?

Given the terminals were corroded then the chances are the connectors are as well, so make sure they have good contact and that you haven't missed a connection.
