That's crap mate! Was this on a public road? Make sure you take photos of it if possible, including something to reference size eg a fag packet, and also a news paper with the date on in the picture.
Get onto your local council website as they usually have a claim section on there, don't forget to get all your tracking etc done too! Hope this helps.

you need to contact their legal department who wil then either sort out compo depending on the road that it happened on or pass you onto the company who was supposed to look after the road or have recently done roadworks on that stretch
make sure you explain everything from a dumb non car enthisisats point of view, i called out the aa becaise my car was "making a noise" and then it went on from there
good luck and i'll give you some pointers if you get stuck, been there done that several times now without failure to win, biggest score was £1800

Contacted the council and they sent out the claim forms and where to send them, filled them all in and sent along with all pics of the wheels and pothole, just waiting to hear back now. Pothole was filled the following day lol
