Default 18" alloys on a saphs

Are 18s a pain on a saph cos what do they drive like? I'm thinking focus rs alloys. I currently have 17" oz superleggera.

My mate went from 17's to 18's on his 3 door, and it spoiled the ride big time IMO.
He thought the same and went back to 17's.

Another mate has just took 18" Comps off his Saph. Drove $hite, but did look good.

Personally, Focus RS rims dont do a Saph any favours looks-wise anyway.
Each to their own tho........ just my opinion.

Koni's std ride height NO spacers only fitted mine to cover the 350mm brakes which i don't use now

each to there own yes.BUT they're a different and better look than boring 7 spokes

mine are 215/35/18 they had to be 35 so that they would sit just under the suspension cup. coilovers soon though and 40 profile, so should be a little better again.

ive got 18s on mine think its lowered about 20mm with 3mm spacers on the rear all fitted before i bought it, rides ok would imagine 16/17s would ride better .

No mods to the arches mate, if you've got coilovers they fit better, ive still got koni adjustables on the front and you have to have 35 profile on for the wheel to sit under the cup

I've discovered an issue with 18's now im 2wd, full opposite lock on roundabouts causes much scrubbing on the wings!

i have had raceline's in 18inch in combo with the koni's and lowerd springs
front 35-215 rear 35-225 and they look the best but drove the wurst
so i had it back to 17inch and its a far better drive
the also rubbed on the front and back when taking some good bumps or loads

but he ! if you dont drive and yust look ad it you cant beat the 18inch

I run 215/35/18 tyres and get zero scrubbing front and rear even with 2 people in the back
Front arches are rolled, rears are standard

I ran 215-35's and the front scrubbed loads, on 205-40 18 now and they are better, still catch on full lock if its bouncing a bit though. Need my arches rolling on the front, rear's have never caused any issues.

Mine run's fairly low though......

Stick with 17's on the front you dont want bigger or 35 profile upfront it destroys the feel & handling. You can run 18's or 19's on the rear. I love the stance 17's front 19's rear.

Been thinking about 18"s myself lately, they definately look the best on 18"s imo, but I've heard so many mixed reports about how they drive I'm gonna stick with 17"s I think, don't want to spend a load of money just to find out I like it lol

i never noticed a differance between 17 to 18's, but totally changed the feel of the the car changing from worn out koni's to new koni dampers/ahmed road spec springs

Don't put 18's on if you can avoid it, hated the way mine drove for years because of big wheels and 35's. This is from 2004 when it was the "in" thing.

I much prefer it now on different rims (17" RL7) it drives a lot nicer.
