Default 3door wheel offsets?

hello im looking into buying some wheels for my 3 door, but all the different offsets confuse me, so what offset will i need so it doesnt look like im using a narrow axle, cheers.

Standard is et35 i beleive same as escorts except cosworth escorts and various other 80's and 90's fords. Think you go a little over tough as 3 doors really dont fill the rear arch's

Et37 is a standard 3 door offset . and et25 is standard escort cosworth offset.

On my 3 door ive gone for et35 7j on the front so it dont catch the arches and et30 8j on the rear .

Hope this gives you some idea

what does that handle like with 18s?

i have spax all around atm

ive been wanting 18x8 et38 rims on my 3 door 4x4 and everyone has told me that they drive like a dog and catch the arches like crazy???

what tyre profiles do u have aswell?

running 215 35 18 doesnt catch on struts atal did need to cut sideskirt back and take a bit off the arch lip.drives nice mate i had 17s and 18s drive just as good to me

i think the 4x4 setup sits 8mm further out so would like to think it would require alot more work

As my post above, mines never caught the arches even when driving hard . think mine also has 205's on the front and 215's on the rear

I tried 18's on my 3 door and it really didnt feel safe . Im now on my 9th set of wheels in 6 years and i like the way the car drives on these and it looks ok too so there staying .

i had et35 on my 17s on my moonstone 3dr and once the suspension was sorted it never caught.

fronts 205s and rears 215s

would et30 8x18 comps with 225/40/18 on the rear catch the arches on my 3door lowered on bilsteins shocks??

best combo is et35 front et25 rear on 18s run 215/35/18 wont have any catching issues

iv got et30 front and et25 rear 215/40/17 on front and 235/40/17 on rear and had to cut the bodykit back a fair bit.. il get some pics up
