Found the answer, yes, 16s.
Obviously centre lock only. A mate of mine has a set of Mondeo BTCC alloys which were centre lock but drilled to 4 stud before he bought them.
Anyone know of a company that does this? What it costs etc?
TIA

Well there's some centre lock ex BTCC wheels for sale on a RS spares website and they're 16s and centre lock?
The person in question with the Mondeo Dymags is on here as well, Percybigun. I found them on eBay, genuine wheels, came of a 3 dr and he has them on his Mk1 Mondeo turbo. They've been drilled to 4x108 fitment, pics here if you've time to scroll through

They went through stages of using 16" front 17" rear then 17" all round then up to 18"
If i remember right the centres on 16" and 17" were the same its the outer rims that were bigger, like mine they have the same centres but bigger outer rims.

that mondeo wheel conversion does not look safe at all
the bbs touring car rim centres were all the same diameter, the rim sections differ in size. the 15" rims are a flat base in that there is no tyre well & you have to build the wheel into the tyre. 16, 17 & 18" rims can have the tyres directly fitted onto built wheels. There were stress cracking issues with the 18" rims and as such are no longer available. You can still get the rims in the other sizes if you have a spare 6K around

all of the rs500 ran mainly 17" bbs split rims early on a few with 16" rims most of the bmws run by sytner, weaver and co had 16" bbs rims the same, when my graham goode listerine car came back from indonesia it still had the original centrelock centres but the outer rims were changed to suit the thundersaloon style it came back as and it ran 10"x17" at the front and 12"x 17" at the rear a total nightmare to get in and out of my garage
