was driving my new car back yesterday from scotland, a Ford Escort 1.6 L reg, and then my fuel needle started going mental jumping up and down shoing i have no fuel at all then jumping and doing dances anybody know what this is about??

 

i had the same problem with mine and it was aswell all of the sudden and I had half tank of fuel it ended up by being the fuel gauge that got fook don't know how but it was the only but thing was that soon after I fitted the new gauge the rev counter stoped working ever since it has been like that I cant still fix it, but with the new fuel gaige had no problem.

 

lol tis a funny old thing, now ive jus found a fuel leak in the tank too and the tank is corroded im gonna need a new tank damn it how much these go for do u know?

cheers, i took it to garage an they said deffo needs a new tank, is there any other ways around it or do u think they telling truth ??

 

you can try and patch it up but it never sorts it properly - as for the fuel needle, could be the float on the pump that's come loose or something I know on my 1800 si the float is attached to the pump cassette and I had to replace mine coz it was loose as heyal!

lukily i'd just blown a fuel pump so had to take it out anyway
(never seen a blown pump as lucky before )
