hi guys

im wondering if anyone has any expierience with escort rst lsd differential ive recently bought 2 escort gearboxes and they do have lsd i stripped one box down and removed the diff as im goin to fit it to my fiesta rst gearbox.

there is play in the diff. if you stick your fingers into the diff unit you can move the internals up and down slighty this is the same on both diffs. im wondering if this normal and will it be ok when the drive shafts go in ?
on visual inspection diff looks in good nic and the internals of thegearbox looked reasonably good too no sign of smashed or anything .

i didnt buy the gearboxes for much so it doesnt bother whether the diff is good or not but i would hate go to all the effort of putting it into the fiesta and find its all been a waste.

any info would be greatly appreciated

 

hope this help yea iv just picked up an old load off spare parts form gearbox builder . in side is one off the lsd witch he said was in good order .iv just put me finger in the drive shaft holes and there is also play

 

I believe the play in the diff is because the differential is viscous coupled, sounds normal
