Default ESCOS Inlet manifold and plenum

I'm in the process of upgrding my small turbo escort cos. Looking to go 400 bhp+ and so whole bottom end is getting balanced lightened. Top end, head is getting ported, new cams steel gasket etc. T38 turbo, 2 wd exhaust manifold but undecided on inlet manifold.
Can't decide if to go 8 injectors or stay with 4. Having read through the archives it appears that I already have the best plenum (EECIV small turbo) but what about the manifold. If I go for 8 injectors what would all you experts recommend. I know Graham Goode etc sell them but who sells the best. I also have a 15mm plenum spacer I bought ages ago but never fitted, intended to fit this now as well. So what is the "experts" rcommendation as to what use, a WRC inlet and EECIV plenum ? or another combination.
What combination if I stay 4 injectors ?
The pistons are getting pockets machined into them so that I can put even hairer cams and go for more power again if required. I therefore want to get the best inlet system now so that if required its there.
Car already has a RS500 style intercooler so that's no problem.
Any help will be appreciated.

Default inlet

Hello ,from my experience unless you want more than 475 bhp what you have will work ok with 4 injectors maybe some of the 800cc siemens would be best . So far we have tested the std 4b intake and made 480bhp max rs500 type is ok to 800bhp and magnesium rallycross type max 860 bhp and the swedish style plenum cover over std primary max 740 bhp.As for the plenum spacers they never make any difference on any manifold we have tested on our dyno....not even 1 bhp . A common conversion for the std 4wd manifold is to use the throttle pot from the late escorts as these are bigger and help to get to the magical 500bhp...Hope this helps...........

a 'throttle pot' is the potentiometer (variable resistor) that is attached to the throttle spindle. the ecu supplies it with a voltage, and depending on how open the throttle is, it gets a certain voltage back.

how a potentiometer can give more power i don't know i suppose that you meant to write throttle body?

generally, no it's not. it is just the potentiometer (Throttle Position Sensor).

the who caboodle is normally called the throttle body, although it usually consists of the actual throttle body + throttle plate + spindle + pot + bypass valve + bypass screw +++++
