Hi pepole, i have a s1. it is fully restored to its former glory GREAT! but....i have rebuilt the engine with all uprated parts (those you can uprate) it has a turbo systems chip and runing 13 psi boost.
now the problem is it will not cold start, unless you crank it for ever and eventually it will fire on 1 then 2 then 3 ect......and its running, it then drives, pulls, boosts pefectly and even starts first crank all day. after the first start.
does anyone know what controls the cold start injector?
why would the car not run at all when i pulled the plug off the injector?
also the idle is high when the ajustment is wound fully in, would this suggest an air leak? i have used all new gaskets and have built many engines so im not sure where this would be coming from?
does the engine have an idle control system of some sort? and does this sit on the back of the inlet manifold with water running through it (black plug)? if so does the water have to run through it for cold start?
thanks for looking at my rant, any help would be greatly recived..

is your cps correctly adjusted? and yes it should still run if u take of the blue multi plug to the cold start valve !
although u could have a leaky cold start injector which could be squirting in fuel when its not supposed to !

just looked for you the correct multi plug u shoul have going to your cold start valve should have these 2 coloured wires to it!
regardless what colour the multi plug is!
cold start valve:
black/yellow
brown/white
thermal time switch is same as coldstart valve as they are looped
black/yellow
brown/white
temp sensor is:
brown
brown/green
auxillary air device is:
black/red

all the bloody plugs are the wrong color! BUT i have looked at all the wire colors and they were all on the wrong sensors
, so i have changed them to what you have said and............................................... .... its started first crank and idles properly, is even more responsive on boost!!!
