cut the heads off a couple of the old head bolts and cut a slot in the end so you can screw/unscrew them with a screw driver - use these to locate the head when refitting it - easy service tool.

I can vouch for this, works 100% and helps when you're holding on to the head at arms length.
I took mine off with all manifolds and turbo attached, make sure you have somewhere near by to put it on and nothing in your way cos it's b***** heavy. You won't want to parade around your workshop with it in your arms... However much you love it

Wouldn't recommend trying to put it back on with all manifolds unless you have someone to help, the head + manifolds are proper heavy.

But putting the manifolds back on while the head is on the block is a fiddly nightmare at best.

You make your choices - happy to help if you need a hand.

Pete,
Only tip you need is "Cleanliness pays"

And oil the underside of the bolt heads before torquing with a decent wrench to teh correct figure and no "Bit Extra for good measure" As that fooks em
