When attempting to start the engine, you have 3 positions on the lock barrel.
1st - radio comes on
2nd - dash lights come on
3rd - cranks the engine then pops back to 2nd position after it fires
Now what my car is doing, is fire on 2nd position by itself. And sometimes it takes its time to fire, as if the relay is sticking...but its not.
Unfortunately, this problem is basically causing the same effect that learner drivers often do....after the engine fires, they keep the key on position 3, so it just shoots constant power to the starter motor...
Then the starter motor got jammed in the flywheel and blew up!
So, a new starter motor has been fitted, a new ignition switch and ignition relay....the problem is still there!
Any ideas??? Because the fact is, someone who doesn't care wouldn't mind it starting on the 2nd position, but the fact is, its acting in the same way as if you held the key in position 3....that ain't good! Plus I care a lot! LOL
