Default Escort Cosworth Front Diff

Hi, is the front diff where the drivers side drive shaft goes into???

What oil do I need for this, will normal ford oil do the job??

I assume I fill it using the hole in the side until it comes out???

And should ther be a gasket for the bottom plate or do is just use gasket sealer?

Sorry the the silly questions, as you can tell, I have limited knowledge on cosworths!

Cheers, Rich.

it takes 1 litre, use some decent fully synthetic oil like castrol taf-X, 75W90.

remove the small bolts from teh bottom to drop teh plate off and the oil, clean teh faces and then refit with a small bead of silicone sealant , refill as u say though teh filler plug in the side....

1 thing i would say is that as it is so slode to the heat of teh turbo, engine and downpipe, it is well worth trating it to some better oil than normla mineral gear oil, u'll probably find it stinks of smokey bacon in there when u drop it as it will have been baked to death

Just got a price for the diff oil and Ford say you cant buy it in 1 litre tubs, only 5 or 20lts!?!?!

This seems a bit strange to me??? Why would someone want 5 or 20 lts??
