Default rs turbo in a xr2

i have just aquired a xr2 in ok condition, engine is a bit knackered, just wondering how easy it is to fit a erst into the xr2, can u get away with using the xr2 g/box d/shafts of will i need to change them? anyone done this conversion, any help will be appreaciated

hey cossywal.
the engine itself will bolt up to the xr2 gearbox and all no bother and u can use the original driveshafts aswell.
and the engine will go in the engine bay aswell handy but you have move the rad forward and a piece needs to be cut out of the lower front cross member to accomadate the exhaust.
the wiring isnt really too bad a job but can be a bit messyit depends on whether or not you are good at that stuff . but ya only need 2 relays a brown 3 pin and a purple 5 or 6 pin. these are for the fuel pump
you also need to put the battery in the boot to fit the fuel distributor.
and you need a modified fuel tank these can be got from the fiesta centre.

Best to get an RS gear box mate the xr2 one has no lsd so all the power goes to one wheel but as above it's a fairly easy conversion if you've got all the bit's

erst downpipe on to xr2 system??

Just get an exhaust fabricated up mate... Prob the easiest way.
The battery does nto have to be relocated into the boot. It can be left in situ as well... I know as ive got a xr turbo with the battery still in bay.. See pic below...
