Default smoke and subaru sounding engine!

PLEASE HELP PEOPLE!!!!

Last night I started my car when it was getting cold. Sounded like a subaru then after couple seconds it fizzled and ran like normal. This morning it did the same and again after a few seconds was fine. After driving for about 8 miles on motorway I came off and stopped at lights. everything fine. next lights, everything fine. Third set of lights start sounding rough again so i pulled away slowly but this time it did not stop. I pulled up and turned engine off. Big puff of white smoke everywhere.

What can it be??

Water hose when last week but replaced it. Think there may still be bit of air in system. Would this be it??

Please help

last time my car sounded like that, it was a spark plug lead was loose and tracking across to the side of the head !! check all your leads its not firing on one of your cylinders !

the white smoke is unburnt fuel in that cylinder !

I just found the sensor that goes from induct pipe on top of head that the wire has snapped. Would that be the problem?? Where does the other end of the wire go to, thanks

white smoke is usually steam,, blue is oil and grey/black is unburn fuel, could be headgaskit letting water into one of the cylinders, mine has just done exactly that.

yeah the sensor looks dodgy mate. the wire was broken in half but had reconnected and same thing. Changed plugs and runs fine now but still smokey. I though head gasket would explain water loss too.

Its a shame because engine is so mint and yu can tell it really looked after.

Would you still have warranty on that head gasket???

Thanks

got offered a nice cossie last night for an extra Ł400. VERY VERY tempted but also still looking at s2's. Might wait one more year NCB to get the cossie. We'll see what happens.

I found the burton receipt and phoned them. He said they are warratied but not for modified cars so bit of a bitch!

How you doing anyway bud?

thats exactly what i thought. Surely if you buying a group A gasket from them; then the car is likely to be modified so it should be able to handle modified parts. Just like insurance companies! wiggle out of everything!!
