Default rs turbo cooling problems

hi can any one help me please my 88 rs turbo the temp gauge reads up on the high side but not in the red !above the n, the fan cuts in and it does not boil over and when you idle the heater in the car goes cold until you hit 3000 rpm then its hot again ,i have tried a new thermostate n sensor but the gauge is still high and the bloody heater is crap any help muchly apreciated as im new to rs turbos thanks

hmm seen as though its speed that makes your heater warm i would say uve got a knackered water pump!

as your making it work harder to push the water round @ 3000rpm


also check you have got a thermostat in now as winters here it will need one!
this will also remove any airlocks u might have too!

yer tried the new pump on saterday and to no avail the car is exactly the same but did find a hair line crack in the engine block at the front behind turbo its not pouring out but there is a bit dampness there ,it has had new thermostate n sensor fitted ,please help you guys cheers

cracked block?

thats only going to be the start of the problems, no doubt something else is up aswell but its pointless trying to repair it with a cracked block, the block is going to do nothing else other than get worse

COULD BE A AIR LOCK BUT THE CRACKED BLOCK AINT GOOD NEWS!

yer the block upon inspection has a 6inch crack so bought new motor outa 60k car which had the head overhauled for 200 quid last nite so well see how this one is will keep you posted cheers bri
