Whenever i accelarate hard in between 1500-3250 rpm in my escort the car stutters and wont accelarate smoothly. The engine is the 1.6 DOHC 16v Zetec and its done about 90,000 miles. The problem lessons when the angine gets warmer but it is still noticeable. Any ideas of what it could be?

my girlfriend s rs1800 fiesta done the same i took plugs out cleaned them re gapted them fitted new lambda sensor and engine coolant temp sensor

jobs done pulls like a train again with no splutters at all
