not sure where to post this so ill just do it here lol, basically got my new car exactly the same as my old but just with a bodykit, escort cab 1.6efi, i took the stereo out my old one to put in the new except all the wires are loose in the new one not on a black box, i have no clue how to wire it up, so if any1 could give me colour codes of what colour wire connects to what would be a great help thanks

 

go to halfords or a car audio shop and buy the iso plug for your car and fit that to your loose wires so you can plug your stereo straight in

 

black = earth
brown = live
out of the car

from your head unit
red = permanant live
yellow = ignition live
black = earth

connect red and yellow to brown and black to black and your speakers are the wires that are left. any probs give me a shout.

 

the brown wires on a ford stereo are earth !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so its brown earth
yellow ignition live 12+
red perminant 12+
red white stripe ariel amplifier

there are no black wires!

 

This is the correct colour codes, and i agree.......BLACK WIRES IN THE STEREO WIRING THATS A VAUXHALL MATE, THEY MADE THEM THINGS CALLED NOVA'S.......
