XR2 Bodykit
Anyone have any idea if you can get the fixing kit for them from ford anymore, or if there is sucha thing? or what you can use instead.
I dont want to take my kit off get the car restored only to find out i have to glue my kit back onto new paint
Any help would be much appreciated!

hey stu your best bet would be to talk to a panel beater they would probably be able to get clips for you of some sort.
i know you can use self tapping srews on the arches and rivets on the front and back bits of the kits the only hard bits id say would be the side skirts.
i dont know if you can still get the fixing kit from ford i mite be able to check for you if you wanted as i work in a ford dealership but not much of the stuff for the xr2 is still available.

Hello mate, thank's for the info. I actually managed to track all of the parts down today for the body kit fixings. They should all be ready to collect on monday i had to go to a ford dealer a good few miles away from me though as my local dealer were complete tools.
"no, we can only get parts for the mark 6 fiesta"
As soon as i've made sure i've got all the bits for the kit i'll be sticking the xr2 in the garage and stripping it down to start on the bodywork A restoration thread is on the cards shortly.
Cheers for your help
