Default stage 3 cossie setup question

Is it possible to run a stage 3 saph setup without the 3 bar map sensor and just the standard 2 bar? or is it a must and needs to be fitted for the car to run correctly?

cheers folks

HI,
If it is a stage 3, 803'S ETC, with approx 23psi boost you can't use the 2,bar map
sensor as the fuelling info etc will NOT match the chip,

3 Bar map sensor work minus one Bar, plus two Bar, so it will work upto 29.4 psi boost
2 Bar works with one Bar minus and plus from zero, thats why a stage one running 15psi works on a standard map sensor

will be ok as the Map sensor will only show 18psi to the ECU so fueling will\should compensate for it

I have a few 3 Bar sensors at 45 quid posted

HI,

IMO, the fuelling etc will still not be100%, correct for the chip
who you had the chip off they will know for certain, but rather
than say yes in theory, could be a expensive mistake, just
buy another 3,bar sensor,

you should only ever use the correct sensors/injectors chip combination, unless u want a bwokenised engine, they are unreliable enough as it is without giving them a helping hand

If you are only running a 2 Bar with 803's at 18psi, the only problem you will have is slight over fuelling which will be safer than underfuelling.

ok so thinking about it, whats a nice sensible and safe power setup and boost level with greens, 3bar and stage 3 chip ? to use on an everyday car?
Or should i say what will the stage 3 setup be happy with 20psi?

cheers

there should be a serial number on teh sticker on teh chip, stu can match that to his records and tellu exactly what the spec of th chip is,

u cant really say all atg 3 are 22 psi say,,, some are 22, some are 25, mine is 29 peak and then backs off to a held 25, but that is cos the chip is mapped for that and it has had the full setup and been checked through the boost and revs on teh road by stu to make sure its all good,

i'd say for the sake of 100 quid to have stu give it the once over, its well worht it as any problems that u may not even be aware of may become aparent that could cost big money if not tended to early before it goes bang
