Default Cossie problem...any advice?

Got a sporadic problem with our saph, every now and again it revs it's nuts off and drops (hunting) but only when it's cold and doesn't do it all the time, we've changed the idle valve. It seems to be something electrical?as when it revs for a few seconds and then will cut back to normal revs???

If we disconnect the idle valve it idles fine, is it controlled elsewhere apart from the ecu??

The ICSV is controlled via an earth (pin 34) by the Ecu and the power comes from the Fuel pump relay, The pulse signals are sent dependant on cold start situations and other loads.

You could go to the lengths of measuring the signals times and comparing them with the specified amounts.......

Otherwise, i'd suggest you check for any extra loads during start up (cold) to start with........

I assume your base idle is correct???

Must say I had the same problem with mine. It turned out on mine to be fuel mixture. It was on the edge of correct when at normal temperature, though when cold, fuelling was out.

If you already havent checked, may be worth just making sure the fuelling isnt miles out at a friendly garage.

Cheers
