hi all,
saturday night i was out and about, went to accelerate up a steep incline and at about 4000 rpm the front drivers side inner cv joint exploded and let go of the drive shaft!!
the car has been lowered 30mm with koni shocks which i've been told doesn't help but should be fine.
we've come to the conclusion that in order for the shaft to have come out the engine mounts must be knackered!!
anyone else had this happen? or does anyone know of anything else that could have caused it??
any help appreciated.

common problem on a lowered ecos and 4x4 saph.when lowered in combination with a weak or broken engine mount and hard accel the shaft pulls out of the joint.
there are a few fixes.
get a longer shaft from ggr (approx 10mm longer)
get new motor sport or standard engine mounts
or like me do both for piece of mind

ok cheers velocity.
i managed to get one from woodford garage motorsport which is actually a passenger side one which is 5mm longer than the drivers side.
also, there is no circlip on the passenger side one to hold it into the diff but from the feedback i've had i've been told that its probably better not to have it because it allows the shaft to float more.
