Must be the bearing cups, which are pressed in to the hub
If you are having them blasted, I would leave them in to protect the bearing outer seats.
Got any photos and it might be easier to see what you mean.
Cheers

can you get new ones pressed in, do the old ones have to be pressed out?
also dont understand why the front hub shapes are different?
couple of pics of what i mean,
im restoring my cabby so seems a waste to leave the old crap ones in.
any info will be very helpfull.

The bearings look like they are still in the hubs.
In the top pics, you need to lever out the "oil" seals, the black rubber ring bit, and the outer bearing race will then fall out. This will then leave the inner and outer bearing tracks left in the hub. These need to be pressed or driven out from the opposite sides using a drift..usually copper to avoid damaging the bearing track carrier surfaces machined into the hub. The hub in the top pic on the right still has some of the old seal left in. When the races fall out, you'll see the tracks and how they fit. They need to be drifted out carefully and evenly cos if they tilt they will stick.
My front hubs were the same as the one on the right..not seen the left type before
Hope this helps

Yes they do come with the bearings. If needed, also replace the cone shaped dust shields from the CV-joint side. They are usually completely rotten at this age and they are only ~1£ each from Ford.
