quite soon i hope to spend a few days sorting the underside of my fiesta.
i want to get rid of all the rust, and underseal it, but would like it all to remain bodycolour underneath.
how do i go about it, what products should i be using?
i'm guessing i aplly and underseal and then, primer and paint it.
finally seen the light in keeping the bits you dont usually see in good condition.
my car is 7 years old and i'm noticing rust in all sorts or areas.
thanks

first what mk of fiesta is it mate, the only real way to do it is to dismantle all the suspension clean it all up either paint it or whateva and wipe some thinners or petrol over the rubberrised underseal ford put on ,
to get all the shite off ,
then as you say primer it all paint it the colour of your car and a good couple of coats of laquer,
while you have got it all apart you could poly bush the whole car , either do the rear end first then work your way to the front, have a look at twins thread on here his underbody resto is amazing, hope this helps. mark.
(ps for fock sake dont just paint hammerite ontop cus it will look shite)

no, dont worry, wont be hammeriting...
its a mk4 fieta, its all ready poly-bushed all round, but may get another rear beam powdercoated and then the bushes swapped across.
so thinners on the crappy standard stuff?
whatr do i use to seal it all before the paint etc goes on? the waxoyl stonechip stuff or sommat else?

yeah just wipe it with thinners , its will just get rid of all the muck and grime thats ontop of the standard rubberised ford stuff, no point in taking all the standard ford stuff off its done a good job so far
thats what im having to do with mine and its a pain in the fooking arse.
have a look at this pic.![](https://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/wellywoo/DCP_2611.jpg)
you could stonechip it all but thats totally up to you, i would just give it a couple of coats of zinc etch primer, couple of coats of body colour then 2 or 3 coats of laquer. sorted.
hope this helps
