Default Cooling fans not working ( cosworth )!!!!!!

Hi, Can any one help me with this one? First of all, what sort of temp should the cooling fans cut in on my saf coz? Also they are not cutting in at all at the moment, I have tried another temp sensor in the bottom of the rad, It wasn,t a new one though it was from my mates 4x4 and he said it was fine on his. But if I bridge the wires across on the plug that goes onto the switch then they come on. I'm stumped! Any help please. CheeRS.

If you bridge the wires then the only thing it can be is the fan switch (the sensor in the botom of the rad on the passenger side).

As Daz says.. if the fans come on when you bridge the switch connector then it IS the sensor at fault - or the coolant isn't ACTUALLY getting hot enough to turn the fans on, irrespective of what the (often wildly innacurate) temp gauge says..

if the fans run when the switch connector is bridged, then it's NOT the fuse or relay that's at fault....

If fans, fuse, relay are ok, then Check that the "signal" wire from the relay to the fans is ok .... mine was "corroded" so bad that there was no connection
