Default RS Turbo - very wierd problem

I've had my RST a few days now, its had a brande new engine by power engineering and usually ticks over perfect, but occasionally it seems to run very lumpy, when either cold or hot, barely ticking over at 500rpm or less, about to stall. then all of a sudden it will just sort itself out and run perfect again.

Also on two occasions ive gone to start it, the starter motor has been turning over at the usual speed with a fully charged battery, but the car refuses to even try to start, doesnt fire at all. then if you bump it off, drive the car for a moment, turn it off and try to start it again it fires up straight away!

Last but not least, tonight while driving in the dark the temp gauge started to rise as ususal as the car warmed up, but then started to fall again, the headlights and dashboard seemed to get more and more dull until i had to pull over, i turned the car round and headed home. gave it a good bootfull and suddenly the lights brigthened back up and the temp guage shot instantly to Normal!!??

Im totally confused by these problems and dont know if theyre connected in any way, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

cheers,

James

tick over could be a possable air leak somewhere around the breathers, or a dumpvalve problem (if u run one)

the other problem could be a dodgy alternator, connections or the belt a bit slack, also check the termanals on the battery are nice and clean and tight
