have got 1992 Escort rs2000 and am having problems starting car. The fuel pump will not always run have replaced the relay switch but am still having problems anybody had same trouble and resolved it would be grateful for any help

 

could be the fusebox, they are notoriously bad on escorts of the age.. the soldered joints inside come apary and form dry joints, causing all sorts of intermitant faults

 

I had that on my old Escort S, what I used to do was lift the back seats up to reveal that plastic/rubber grommet by the fuel tank and give a few taps around and on that area with my hand, this usually fixed it, but my problem was intermittent and not all the time.
