I just bought a head copper gasket for my sierra is turbo.
Does anyone have experience in how to get the gasket 100% sealed?
Someone told me to heat the gasket before i assemble it, but is there a special sealant I shout use?

not hear of a copper head gasket, other than a de-compression plate, are you sure its a copper head gasket and not a head gasket meant for coopers rings...?

 

no it's a "stand alone" gasket made of pure copper. It's not a de-compression plate

 

hey m8 i am using d comp plate on zetec turbo conversion the head gasket is the same thing but lots more work,i think u have to get both surfaces skimed block&head then use a small amount of some h/t sealent(eg curil t or other)

when doing zt conversion i only use on plate to block but i still use head gasket to seal block to head,if in dought give feriday engineering a call on01785621710 tomorrow i hope this helps

 

Where did you get the gasket from ? Surely they would be able to advise you on best method for fitting
