Default Starting prob on S2

Hi folks, hope someone can give me a bit of help. My 90spec RST is somestime struggling to start within 2 or 3 seconds of the key being turned. Sometimes she will burst into life - other times it needs turned over for about 10s before going. Its a bit of an intermitant problem really. The car is totally standard appart from a mongoose. Got 63k on the clock and made 121bhp at the wheels last week at 7psi. The guys at the rollers (AVA - Glasgow), said the car was spot on appart from this wee starting problem! Any ideas on what to check?
The fuel preasure is ok (checked at the rolling road set up), the battary is strong, the starter turns spot on, but just won't fire as it should, all the time. Just had a major service including belts, plugs, leads, head gasket, cap, arm etc etc, but still this problem is not solved.
Cheers,
Mac
