hello people, im looking for some more info about putting a 1.8 zetec engine into my mk4 efi cabby, xr4x4rs has been very helpful supplying the following info:
engine either 1.6 or 1.8 ( 1.8 130bhp is the best option)
mk4 efi flywheel and clutch
the flywheel needs the wholes drilling out bigger
and change the throttle postion sensor to zetec and extend to sensor wires
charge air temp sensor and ecu water temp sensor
use all zetec alternator brackets and alternator
use the ecu from zetec to go with that engne
you will need the zetec top rad hose as this houses the fan switch
basically the ecu will just bolt in as where the original sits behind the centre console
you also need to modify the cvh engine mount aswell by cutting the bottom lug off so it becomes a 2 bolt instead of 3
also use a cvh oil filter
what i need to know is what gearbox to use?
do i need to change the fuel pump? or fuel tank
which rad do i use zetec or mk4?
what about the eids module?,
just need loads of info really , hope someone can help???

use your original gearbox,
fuel pump will be fine aslong as your not turboing the zetec,
use mk4 rad as it fits better and will perform as well as the zetec one,
existing edis module is fine aswell.
would also recommend using a fiesta mk3 alternator bracket with the original escort alternator, with the v belt pulley from zetec alternator and the belt from a non power steering zetec xr2i
